My valuable lesson learning at Art Center hard at work.

Le Mech

Taking a quick blogger dump since I haven't been faithfully posting. Especially since I'm back in term.

On and off. Started in class and finished in another class a week after. Total hour time though was only about 2 hours though.
FILLER POST!

To me there's a lot of appeal to be able to draw things in mirror. Corel Painter 12 offers this and it's brush system is definitely way more simple, intuitive, and efficient as compared to 11. For some reason though my Corel Painter 12 is really buggy and crashes every time I try to export a file though... Otherwise it's pretty fun to work in it though actually.

Self Portraito

Assignment for Digital Design 1.

Original photo.

Yeeh it got a bit too feminine looking. Oh well. It's what happens when you pose like you're in a lip gloss commercial in airsoft gear.

Spaceship Speedy

Just thought I'd try to get one in before the night's done.

WHALESHIP

The whale is landing.

I was trying to do some spaceship doodles and at the same time my girlfriend wanted me to draw something for her. So I made a painting of a whaleship and our Pillow Pet dolphin Jack for her.

Spacysheep.

I got inspired by Jon McCoy's spaceship sketches. I decided to try it out in his format. You'll find his blog and the post I drew from here.

Coming up with more interesting designs to draw to proved difficult, whereas I'm getting more comfortable with digital sketching. Drawing spaceships is a lot harder than I remember...

E.Tiemens Studyyy

I tried painting day after I was done with summer term but I was hit by artist block. Today I managed to get my juices flowing with another landscape study though.

I gotta tell you it was pretty tough haha. Not only was the original gouache but Tiemens' work is just crazy pro. Worked on it for an hour and a half and I'm still not close to that level...

Erik Tiemen's original piece here below and blog here.

Firenzeeee

A lot more effort was put into this one so I thought I'd dedicate a post to it rather than just leave it within a small slideshow. I will give a lot of credit to the art of AC2 too haha. Looking at that definitely helped me along a lot.

Cheers!

Art of Reseeeeaaaarch

Here are two of the projects I did in my Art of Research class this term at Art Center. I haven't been active since finals have been drawing closer (week 13 drawing to a close now!) and I finished this class just last night I thought I'd upload some of the less eyesorey-type work I've done.

Many thanks to everyone who helped me with the third project. Everyone gave awesome responses and I wish the presentation was long enough for me to talk about all of the,.

Thanks for dropping by!

Inside... Aire?

So if plein aire normally refers to painting outdoor landscapes... what is painting interiors? .-.
Starbucks in The Village in Walnut, CA.

I don't really know, but this first try at interior painting is damn hard. Took me nearly three hours. And I just barely realized I didn't even finish. I'm missing two of the ceiling lamps. :[

Err.. I'll try fixing it later. :P

Blehg...

Phothoshop run in class.

Practicing more and more without dropping in photo textures. And...
I need to make more interesting designs in general to toss into these things. :/
